Overview:
The Nursing Technician I works closely with the Registered Nurse to monitor and record patient conditions. This position entails assisting patients with daily tasks and promoting movement under supervision.
Responsibilities:
Supporting individuals in their day-to-day activities, such as eating, personal grooming, and incremental mobility to aid in their recovery and treatment plan.
Evaluates patient's quality of life with regards to nutrition, hydration, and elimination to efficiently distribute resources and predict patient requirements.
Oversees the admission, transfer, and release of patients to ensure their placement is in accordance with the planned course of care.
Provides assistance with clinical duties, such as monitoring blood sugar levels, recording important signs, administering EKG tests, implementing restraints, and addressing patients' elimination requirements to ensure their care is thorough and compassionate.
Helps in the organization of unit supplies and medical instruments to maintain a tidy and safe space according to the National Patient Safety Goals.
Validates the presence of the correct arm bands, socks, and signs for patients vulnerable to falls to guarantee their physical safety.
Supports the documentation of all clinical treatments, patient engagements, and pharmaceutical usage to sustain a detailed patient history.
Quickly responding to delegated tasks from nursing staff and sharing insights on patients to enhance cooperative efforts.
Completes other assignments as reasonably mandated or given.

Required:
Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
