Overview:
The RN Expeditor oversees efficient patient throughput, identifies barriers to timely patient care, and proactively recognizes negative trends to be reviewed. This RN is a critical catalyst to continuously improve the care of our system's patients so they can receive their treatment quickly to help them on their road to recovery. This role maintains situational awareness through communication and available technology.
Responsibilities:
Employs understanding of healthcare systems, resources, and patient requirements to assist patients in navigating their medical journey, ensuring they have access to needed services and support.
Acts promptly, prioritizes, synchronizes, and mediates clinical matters in real-time, eliminates discharge obstacles, and resolves care delays swiftly; recognizes potential issues to enable staff to prioritize patient care activities and discharges, preempting potential bottlenecks.
Works with multi-disciplinary teams to explore effective strategies and approaches for minimizing the duration of a patient's stay, managing challenging discharge cases, conditional discharge orders, and associated concerns to ensure patients are discharged safely.
Handles other responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
