Job Description
The Certified Pharmacy Technician II – Retail Specialty supports pharmacists by performing specialized tasks to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmacy operations. Under moderate supervision, this role assists with workflow management, inventory, billing, and other pharmacy functions.
Essential Job Function
- Processes and transcribes orders, handles phone inquiries, and dispenses prescriptions to support pharmacy workflow.
- Assists in inventory maintenance.
- Assists other pharmacy technicians by offering knowledge and support.
- Helps mentor employees through training and orientation processes.
- Leads departmental quality initiatives and implements process improvement strategies.
- Delivers quality customer service to every patient.
- Carries out other responsibilities as directed.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire. Registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
