Job Description
The Chaplain Resident provides support and pastoral care to patients and their families by offering spiritual guidance. This position involves utilizing knowledge from psychology, religion, spirituality, and theology to assist individuals from diverse religious backgrounds and cultures. The role is still in a developmental stage and requires close supervision to ensure effective support is provided.
Essential Job Function:
- Provides support during spiritual care visits to patients to ensure a continuous delivery of emotional and spiritual assistance.
- Assists in evaluating the spiritual requirements and offers advice to individuals, families, and caretakers promptly and compassionately.
- Assists in offering emotional and spiritual assistance to Cone Health staff members.
- The assistant prepares documentation for healthcare providers and suggests strategies to enhance the patient's mental outlook and emotional well-being.
- Engages in every facet of the CPE program to advance their learning and achieve certification.
- Administers various duties like answering phone calls and completing condolence cards to support Chaplains in concentrating on counseling patients, families, and colleagues.
- Carries out additional tasks as required.
Education
- Required: Bachelor's in Social Work or Bachelor's of Human Services
Experience
- Required: 2 Years of experience in the health or medical field.
