Job Description
The Cybersecurity Engineer ensures information assurance and compliance design, integration, implementation, modification, and coordination of the installation, testing, operation, and disposition of hardware and software systems. Functions may include conducting analysis, developing functional and technical requirements and specifications, documentation, monitoring the availability, serviceability, and recoverability of installed technology security systems, implementing cyber security procedures and tools, maintaining systems configuration, managing the installation and integration of system patches updates, and enhancements, and ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices.
Essential Job Function:
- Ensures the safety of information systems through the detection of possible security threats.
- Secure the system by outlining authorization levels, regulation frameworks, and utilities.
- Acknowledging problems involves spotting anomalies, reporting breaches, and reducing susceptibilities.
- Strengthens security protocols by assessing the current state, forecasting demands, and monitoring trends.
- Conducting routine audits helps in uncovering security breaches and inefficiencies.
- Improve systems by installing and managing security protocols.
- Carry out standard system inspections and security appraisals; compile performance reviews; communicate system statuses.
- Upholding the quality of service through compliance with the established standards of the organization.
- Help in the establishment, sustainability, and enforcement of security procedures and protocols.
- Executes any other responsibilities as delegated.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience (10 years' experience in IT with 5 years in IT Security is needed for equivalent experience).
Experience:
- Required: 5 years.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - Obtain within 12 months.
