Job Description
Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Hospital supports the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider in a hospital setting to provide high-quality patient care. Working under close supervision, this role develops and implements hospital-based care plans and prepares equipment for procedures across the organization's hospital systems.
Responsibilities:
Contributing the care team means gathering patient history and medical details to guarantee accurate case documentation is maintained in hospital medical records.
Assists in the development and execution of care strategies as guided by the Registered Nurse or medical practitioner to cater to the needs of individuals receiving treatment in a healthcare setting.
Validates the adherence to Cone Health regulations for sterile environments by incorporating appropriate safety measures and techniques.
Conveying health care instructions to patients and their families is important for facilitating informed decision-making and adherence to the care plan.
Supports in managing emergencies and safety hazards by employing protective gear and hospital safety guidelines to prevent patient harm.
Performs extra responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
