Job Description
The primary function of the Registered Nurse (RN) is to provide excellent patient care and ensure beneficial patient outcomes by utilizing nursing knowledge with compassion and effectiveness. Working under supervision, this role supports the advancement of professional nursing standards by managing patient care through the nursing process and collaboration with other healthcare disciplines.
Essential Job Function
- Assesses patient needs and medical conditions within the assigned unit to provide tailored nursing care and make certain that all patients are receiving the appropriate level of care.
- Scrutinizes patient information, encompassing medical background, diagnostic findings, and present condition, to devise individualized nursing care plans.
- Plans nursing processes, such as medication management and treatment execution, to offer all-inclusive and efficient patient care.
- Validates medical records to ensure they meet regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Evaluating patient responses to interventions and recognizing any additional measures needed to achieve defined care goals.
- Joins forces with an interdisciplinary team to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Completes other assignments as directed.
Education
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse
- Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
