Job Description
Supervising the radiology technologists, the Supervisor Radiology Technologist ensures that the imaging services provided meet the required standards for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. Through managing schedules, offering guidance, and evaluating performance, they contribute to the efficient delivery of diagnostic services and the accuracy of results. Being in charge of the technologists' training and performance assessments, the Supervisor Radiology Technologist safeguards the quality and accuracy of imaging procedures while upholding patient care standards.
Essential Job Function:
- Manages the supervision of daily activities, organization of staff timetables, coordination of tasks, and delivery of care and services to patients in the radiology department, aiming for the smooth and proficient administration of radiology services.
- Ensures that employee time sheets are completed accurately and promptly in the time entry tool, while also delivering workforce development by coaching, applying corrective measures, and conducting performance assessments to follow labor policies and encourage a capable and driven team.
- Follows established protocols to carry out both standard and specific examinations, with the goal of reducing the requirement for additional imaging, thereby improving diagnostic accuracy and lessening patient radiation exposure.
- Accurately records all examinations and relevant documentation in the designated system, recognizing the costs linked to each study to facilitate accurate billing and maintain data integrity, thereby supporting financial activities and ensuring quality reporting.
- Meets all essential annual competencies within the allocated timeframe to sustain professional proficiency and conform to regulatory requirements.
- Supervises the ACR Accreditation process at the American College of Radiology, which involves assessing equipment and implementing regular quality assurance procedures to sustain accreditation benchmarks and reveal the department's emphasis on quality and adherence to superior imaging practices.
- Carries out any other assigned responsibilities.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, Graduate of an accredited Radiology Imaging or related educational program
Experience
- Required: 2+ years
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: ARRT (R) | Radiologic Technologist - Dx; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
