Overview:
The occupational health nurse contributes to the provision of services and programs that create and preserve safe and healthy working conditions for staff members. This position, which is closely supervised, focusses on protecting the organization's personnel from environmental and occupational dangers, promoting and restoring health, and preventing disease and injury.
Responsibilities:
Helps in analyzing the demands of the staff and establishing crucial, secondary, and tertiary precautionary and wellness approaches to enhance health and prevent accidents and ailments.
All relevant details relating to assessments, interventions, progress, job capabilities, screenings, and academic courses are meticulously recorded.
Helps to facilitate health screenings and evaluations (such as physical examinations for new hires, wellness assessments, hearing tests, vision evaluations, care and follow-up procedures for exposure to bloodborne pathogens, and drug testing), which enable companies to identify and manage risks to their employees' health.
A range of tools and resources are made available by the organization to foster employee health and wellness, including incentives for promoting healthy behaviors.
Ensures that relevant health information is communicated to the organization in a timely and professional manner, including information related to work-related injuries, progress on returning to work, lab reports, and drug testing results.
Maintains employee health records with precision and brevity, in accordance with the standards and mandates of the department, the firm, and any laws or regulations that apply.
The confidentiality of health records and information pertaining to employees is strictly maintained and safeguarded.
Undertakes any other responsibilities as allotted.
