Job Description
The RN provides excellent patient care and ensures positive patient outcomes through the empathetic and effective utilization of nursing expertise. Operating under general supervision, this position advances professional nursing practice by coordinating patient care through the nursing process and collaboration with various disciplines.
Essential Job Function:
- Evaluates the needs and health conditions of patients on the designated unit in order to provide nursing care that is focused on meeting the unique requirements of each individual.
- Assesses patient data, such as medical histories, test outcomes, and ongoing conditions, to design individualized nursing care plans.
- Executes nursing protocols, which may include administering medications and treatments, to ensure comprehensive and effective patient care is provided.
- Reviews medical documentation to guarantee accuracy and alignment with regulatory standards and organizational guidelines.
- Evaluates the patient's reaction to interventions and identifies any additional interventions necessary to achieve the defined care goals.
- Cooperates with a multidisciplinary care team to facilitate the comprehensive planning of patient care.
- Executes various assignments as mandated.
Education:
- An Associate degree in Nursing is a valuable educational credential that prepares students for a rewarding and challenging career in the field of healthcare.
- The Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is the primary choice for individuals seeking a comprehensive nursing education.
Experience:
- Necessary: A one-year history as a Registered Nurse.
- Vital: One year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations is of utmost importance.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- To qualify for this role, candidates must have an active Registered Nurse license from North Carolina or a state that is part of the Compact agreement, as well as a current BLS (CPR) certification from either the American Red Cross or the AHA Healthcare Provider.
