Job Description
Registered Nurse RN Dialysis Staff members administer specialized nursing care to patients receiving dialysis treatment in a dialysis center. They work alongside healthcare professionals to provide holistic care, supervise patients during treatments, and ensure compliance with dialysis guidelines for the overall health of patients.
Essential Job Function:
- Observes and appraises the vital signs and overall health status of individuals throughout dialysis treatments, aiming to maintain the safety and efficacy of the process.
- Administers recommended medications and therapies, including the administration of heparin and supervision of fluid levels, to dialysis patients.
- Oversees the operation and upkeep of dialysis devices to uphold their efficiency and hygiene prior to each appointment.
- Cooperates with a variety of teams from different fields to establish and put into action personalized care plans meeting the specific requirements of patients.
- Patients and their families receive information on how dialysis works, self-care strategies, and dietary limitations to ensure the best possible outcomes and quality of life.
- Executes any other responsibilities given.
Education:
- Required: Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience:
- Required: 2 years as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
