Job Description
The Director of Finance acts as a Financial Strategic Partner to senior management within the hospital or division, handling managerial accounting responsibilities and fostering the practice of making well-informed financial choices among leaders. They are tasked with identifying, evaluating, minimizing, and disclosing risk to leadership in order to support the achievement of financial targets. Working closely with hospital and division leaders on financial endeavors is a key aspect of this role.
Essential Job Function:
- Manage, synchronize, and govern the operational budget process and the quarterly rolling forecast process within the Hospital/Division, encompassing monthly deviation assessment.
- Monitor and take part in the ongoing capital budgeting procedures at the Hospital/Division level.
- - Take part in wrapping up tasks at the end of the month.
- Tasked with making sure that directors, managers, and others grasp the effective utilization of provided financial information and aiding in the analysis, preparation, and implementation of relevant strategies when required.
- Accountable for grasping the Hospital/Division's full business framework to develop, execute strategies, and educate non-financial leadership.
- In charge of promoting cooperation among various departments within the Hospital/Division to drive financial efforts across the organization.
- The analysis encompasses various areas such as Revenue Cycle, Corporate Finance, Operations Advisor, and Internal Controls. It involves the ongoing evaluation of financial and statistical data to pinpoint irregular operating trends and identify potential areas of growth and improvement in both expense and revenue domains, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Keeps up-to-date with information across multiple financial data systems and offers assistance in obtaining particular information when necessary.
- Delivers financial oversight, advice, and training at the Hospital/Division level.
Education
- Required:Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration or a related field demonstrating strong analytical capabilities.
- Preferred:Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Healthcare Administration or related field demonstrating strong analytical capabilities.
Experience
- Required: Eight years of progressive experience in healthcare finance or operations with management-related duties and responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge and experience with financial planning and management processes and practices.
- Preferred:Ten years of progressive experience in healthcare finance with management-related duties and responsibilities.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- REQUIRED HFMA Certified Healthcare Financial Professional certification within 12 months of hire.
- PREFERRED CPA
