Job Description
Under supervision, the Environmental Service Technician ensures cleanliness and sanitation in patient rooms, treatment areas, restrooms, and public spaces to fulfill the hospital's customer service standards. Following external regulatory agencies' environmental and infection prevention protocols, this role is essential in preventing the spread of illnesses within the healthcare facility.
Essential Job Function:
- Reporting of cleaning activities was conducted on suitable paperwork to ensure accurate recording of items.
- Maintains open communication with the supervisor to ensure they are kept abreast of current duties and to manage any challenging or time-sensitive issues.
- Aids in tracking supply quantities to ensure alignment with both departmental needs and budgetary targets.
- Aiding in the cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and storage areas is essential to guarantee the efficient running of department operations.
- Addresses and eradicates carpet blemishes as necessary, proactively ensuring a pristine look for guests and individuals.
- Supports in selecting appropriate cleaning solutions and machinery to uphold safety measures and promote efficient cleaning practices in order to minimize health hazards.
- Executes cleaning tasks following departmental guidelines (routine or weekly cleaning, discharge areas, medication rooms, IV storage spaces, refrigerators, etc.) to meet customer demands.
- No physical contact with drugs and is accompanied when in areas where narcotics are accessible.
- Puts needs first and makes adjustments as required.
- Executes any other responsibilities given.
Education:
- Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.
