Overview:
The Facilities Infrastructure Project Engineer's duties include coordinating, implementing, and upgrading building infrastructure systems and machinery. This role also entails supervising minor renovation projects and modifications to interior spaces. Furthermore, the position involves offering technical insight on building infrastructure systems and identifying areas where the performance of existing facilities infrastructure systems can be enhanced. Operating independently, the engineer is tasked with evaluating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, which encompass heating, HVAC, ventilation, refrigeration, electrical distribution, medium voltage transmission, and building automation systems.
Responsibilities:
Creates engineering proposals for enhancing, modifying, and substituting equipment.
Analyzes the primary reasons for failures in systems and equipment to identify the root causes of breakdowns. Generates detailed assessments of the condition of facilities and infrastructure, assessing the cost-effectiveness of repairing as opposed to replacing them. Develops mappings of building and infrastructure systems and establishes guidelines for conducting diagnostic assessments.
Executes facility audits comprising hands-on examinations of HVAC and electrical systems, gathering relevant data, and analyzing systems meticulously to optimize facility operations.
Reviews energy consumption patterns and proposes recommendations for conserving energy in accordance with sustainability objectives.
Ensures that the project aligns with the standards set by the organization in terms of scope, definitions, contract agreements, design elements, drawings, and implementation.
Identifies mechanical and electrical concerns within buildings that impact energy usage by employing all available systems and tools, and examines heating, cooling, ventilation, controls, and lighting systems to ascertain the ideal operating parameters.
Handles the management of property building schematics and project closure documentation post-construction.
Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
