Job Description
The Nurse Technician Observer Float System Wide is instrumental in assisting the Registered Nurse by monitoring and recording patient statuses. Under supervision, this position aids in patient care by promoting gradual mobility and providing assistance with daily activities as required. An essential aspect of this role is to help establish a safe environment for patients who may be prone to suicidal tendencies or self-inflicted injuries.
Essential Job Function:
- Supports individuals by helping them with daily tasks like meals, personal hygiene, and advancing physical activity to contribute to their recovery and care blueprint.
- Assesses patients' quality of life regarding nourishment, hydration, and waste removal to effectively assign resources and foresee patient necessities.
- Manages the admission, transfer, and discharge processes to ensure patients are relocated as per their care plan.
- Helps patients with elimination tasks by offering services such as ostomy care, enema assistance, and the use of condom catheters to promote their comfort and care.
- Supporting the supervision of unit supplies and equipment inventories is essential for upholding a clean and secure environment that meets the standards set by the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Validates the provision of appropriate wristbands, socks, and markers for patients vulnerable to falls to uphold their physical security.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Nurse Aide I, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
