Job Description
Overview:
In the Nurse Technician Observer Float System Wide role, the focus is on observing and documenting patient statuses to provide assistance to the Registered Nurse. This position involves supporting patients in their daily tasks and promoting mobility in a closely supervised environment. The primary goal is to create a safe space for patients who may be at risk of self-harm or suicide.
Responsibilities:
- Provides support to individuals with tasks related to daily living, like meal provision, personal grooming, and gradual improvement of mobility to aid in their recuperation and care plan.
- In order to distribute resources appropriately and predict patient needs, an evaluation of patients' quality of life linked to nutrition, hydration, and elimination is carried out.
- Facilitates the entry, relocation, and departure of patients to ensure they are transferred to the right places based on the care plan.
- Offers support for patients in addressing their elimination needs through services like ostomy care, enemas, and condom catheters to enhance their comfort.
- Aids in the organization of unit resources to maintain a tidy and protected environment in alignment with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Requests advice and recommendations from senior medical practitioners on complicated patient situations and demanding healthcare scenarios to optimize patient care outcomes.
- Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Nurse Aide I, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
