Overview:
Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician is tasked with observing and documenting patient conditions. This position includes assisting patients with daily tasks and encouraging mobility as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Provides support to individuals in performing daily tasks like eating, personal care, and enhancing mobility to promote their recovery and treatment plan.
- Evaluates patients' well-being with respect to their nutrition, hydration, and waste disposal to allocate resources effectively and prepare for their unique needs.
- Supervises the admission, transfer, and discharge tasks of patients to correctly transfer them to the designated places in adherence to the care plan.
- Aids in healthcare procedures by checking blood sugar levels, documenting vital signs, performing EKG tests, applying physical restraints, and assisting with toileting to promote patients' well-being and comfort.
- Helps in organizing unit stock of supplies and medical tools to ensure a hygienic and secure environment as outlined in the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Validates that patients with a higher risk of falling have been provided with the necessary arm bands, socks, and signs for their physical safety.
- Aids in the maintenance of an in-depth patient history by documenting all clinical procedures, interactions with patients, and the administration of medication.
- Acts quickly on tasks delegated by registered nurses and exchanges patient notes to promote seamless cooperation.
- Executes additional tasks as required.

Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
