Cone Health - HeartCare (HeartCare) is a reputable group of Cardiologists affiliated with the hospital, situated in central North Carolina. They are currently in search of a skilled Non-Invasive/Non-Interventional Cardiologist for their Asheboro facility, with a focus on outpatient services supplemented by some inpatient responsibilities. The role encompasses various aspects such as Cardiac CT, Echo, Nuclear Imaging, TEE, and the advantages of hospital employment.

Qualifications required include being board-certified in Cardiovascular Diseases (BE qualification accepted if within 5 years of training completion). Acquisition of FACC designation, possession of a valid and unrestricted medical license in North Carolina including DEA registration, maintenance of medical staff privileges at Cone Health and Randolph Health, and adherence to additional job-related criteria are necessary.

Responsibilities:
Education and Training: Stays up-to-date and maintains professional competence by engaging with literature and attending regional and national conferences. Takes part in inpatient, staff, and professional education initiatives. Involvement in educational and research activities comprises engaging with didactic material, participating in formal teaching conferences, offering clinical teaching, attending staff education conferences, and engaging in clinical research.
Liaison: Engages in liaison responsibilities with fellow professional colleagues and contributes to establishing connections with potential patient referrals. Ensures referring doctors are kept up-to-date on patient care and progress.
Patient Care involves offering both direct and indirect support to patients within designated areas. It also entails overseeing the interdisciplinary team and guiding residents and medical students in their responsibilities. Additionally, participation in relevant clinical research endeavors is expected.
Adheres to the professional guidelines set forth by MCHS, which encompass the Medical Staff By-Laws, commitment to Service Excellence, practice norms, expectations for physicians, and standards for professional appearance. Operates in harmony with MCHS's Mission, Vision, and Values, displaying cooperative and courteous interactions with peers, patients, coworkers, relatives, and guests.
Ensures participation in medical audits, quality improvement initiatives, investigations, peer reviews, and other relevant assessments concerning professional care standards. Offers medical oversight and guidance to the multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes for every patient. Maintains safe practice protocols and adheres to regulatory requirements.
Quality Improvement: Strives for ongoing enhancements and implementation of evidence-based methods aimed at top-notch healthcare and services, aiming for outcomes in the 90th percentile or higher. Adheres to MCHS policies and relevant laws by keeping accurate records. Contributes to creating clinical guidelines, procedures, and programs while suggesting improvements to enhance the quality and effectiveness of care. Collaborates with other physicians in the designated areas to share specific on-call duties.

Required: Practitioner must have completed the number of years in a residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and met all other requirements for eligibility to receive board certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in the primary medical specialty (or subspecialty) for which the Practitioner is applying for Clinical Privileges. If five (5) or more years have elapsed since the Practitioner completed such residency program, the Practitioner currently must have board-certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in such specialty (or subspecialty).
Fully licensed to practice Medicine in the state of NC.
Meets requirements of the Moses Cone Health System Medical Staff by-laws and obtains the appropriate level of medical staff privileges.
The Practitioner must have a current, and valid DEA registration number, with no involuntary limitations on prescriptive authority (schedule limitations) resulting from DEA disciplinary actions.
Each Practitioner shall maintain in force professional liability insurance as determined by the Moses Cone Health System Medical Executive Committee and Board of Trustees; currently $1 million each incident and each occurrence, and $3 million aggregate. The Practitioner must provide proof of professional liability insurance coverage, with a current certificate of insurance or a current copy of the policy. The professional liability insurance coverage shall be with a company approved by the North Carolina Insurance Commission and otherwise satisfactory to the Board of Trustees.
