Overview:
The Radiologic Technologist conducts medical procedures utilizing X-rays or alternative diagnostic imaging techniques to generate visual representations of specific body regions. Following this, a physician analyzes the images to identify and track any potential diseases. While being closely overseen, this role readies patients for examinations, positions them correctly, manages the machinery, and leverages their expertise to reduce the radiation exposure for the patient.
Responsibilities:
Adheres to medical recommendations from doctors concerning the specific body part requiring imaging.
Guide the patient through the process and address any queries to alleviate their nervousness and enhance their comprehension of the procedure.
Positions the individual accurately and aligns the imaging tools to the designated orientation to capture high-quality images of particular body regions.
It stops the avoidable exposure to radiation for both healthcare workers and patients.
Adhering to proper techniques and procedures, such as shielding patients, is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic imaging services.
Ensures necessary paperwork is completed for every procedure to maintain accurate patient files and promote effective coordination between healthcare professionals.
