Job Description
The position of a Registered Nurse RN Dialysis Staff requires providing specialized nursing care to individuals receiving dialysis treatment. Working within a dialysis unit, this role collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care, oversee patients during procedures, and ensure compliance with dialysis protocols to promote optimal patient health.
Essential Job Function:
- Supervises and examines patients' crucial signs and overall condition during dialysis appointments to ensure the treatment is both secure and efficient.
- Offers support to dialysis patients by administering prescribed medications and treatments, which may include heparin and fluid regulation.
- Controls and manages dialysis machines, ensuring their cleanliness and proper operation for each dialysis session.
- Partners with teams across various disciplines to design and implement thorough care strategies adjusted to the particular needs of patients.
- The provision of education to patients and their families about dialysis, self-care practices, and dietary restrictions is vital for enhancing outcomes and quality of life.
- Completes tasks beyond regular assignments.
Education:
- Required: Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience:
- Required: 2 years as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
