Overview:
The Utility Associate is responsible for preserving the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas by appropriately using the dish machine, storing equipment and utensils correctly, and maintaining a sanitized workstation to comply with safety and sanitation regulations. Moreover, this position aids in ensuring that the workplace adheres to all safety standards, raises awareness of any safety hazards, deals with spills, and incorporates energy-saving methods where appropriate. Additionally, this role involves providing food services directly to patients if needed.
Responsibilities:
Runs the dish machine to sanitize and wash dishes, glasses, cups, trays, silverware, and food service gear that have been utilized.
Maintains a clean environment in the dish machine area and routinely inspects temperature and detergent dispensing levels to effectively operate and care for the machine.
Manages waste disposal by transferring it to the appropriate dumpster spot and maintaining the cleanliness and order of the rear loading dock and surrounding dumpster space to facilitate vehicle usability.
Follows by established processes for organizing dry and perishable products, supplies, and machinery relevant to the dining sector to adhere to safety protocols.
Determines and utilizes the proper cleaning solutions, equipment, and agents assigned to specific tasks to protect surfaces from harm and ensure the safety of both personnel and inhabitants.
Operates by the departmental or manufacturer's specifications to manage and uphold equipment, ensuring the prevention of damage or extensive wear.
Undertakes supplementary duties as instructed.
