Job Description
Overview:
Within a hospital, the LPN Hospital position provides essential support to Registered Nurses or healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Under supervision, responsibilities include formulating and enacting care plans specific to the hospital environment and preparing equipment for procedures conducted throughout the hospital's systems.
Responsibilities:
Contributing to the care team by obtaining patient history and medical details to ensure accurate case documentation in hospital medical files.
Helps in devising and putting into action care schedules as directed by the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider in order to fulfill the requirements of patients receiving treatment in a hospital setting.
Verifies that the correct methods and safety guidelines prescribed by Cone Health for sterile environments are adhered to.
Clear communication of health care instructions to patients and their families is essential for the successful execution of the care plan.
Supports in handling crises and safety threats by utilizing personal protective equipment and hospital safety guidelines to prevent harm to patients.
Undertakes extra duties as reasonably expected or assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
