Job Description

Overview:

Supporting the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician is responsible for observing and documenting patient conditions. This role entails assisting patients with their daily needs and promoting mobility under close supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Aides patients in daily activities such as meals, personal grooming, and progressive mobility to support their recovery and care regimen.
  • Analyzes patients' well-being in relation to their dietary choices, fluids intake, and excretory processes to organize resources efficiently and forecast upcoming patient demands.
  • Organizes the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients to facilitate their movement to the designated areas according to the care plan.
  • Aids in clinical processes by overseeing glucose levels, noting essential physiological markers, performing cardiac monitoring procedures, restraining when necessary, and assisting with personal hygiene to deliver quality patient care.
  • Assists in regulating unit inventories of supplies and medical apparatus to maintain a clean and safe ambiance following the National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Ensures that patients with an increased risk of falling possess the appropriate wristbands, socks, and signage to ensure their physical safety.
  • Participates in documenting all clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication utilization to create a detailed patient history.
  • Acts promptly on tasks assigned by registered nurses and communicates patient observations to enhance collaboration efficiency.
  • Carries out supplemental assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

Required: None

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
