Job Description
Overview:
The Pharmacy Resident PGY2 is a healthcare professional with a PharmD degree and completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency. They are currently engaged in specialized training within a pharmacy residency program with the supervision of experienced pharmacists to acquire hands-on experience in different areas of pharmacy practice. Their duties involve delivering high-level pharmaceutical care to patients through activities such as medication therapy management, offering drug information, and counseling patients. Additionally, the Pharmacy Resident PGY2 takes part in clinical rounds, research endeavors, and educational initiatives to enhance their skills and expertise. Ultimately, their primary goal is to enhance patient outcomes and advance their clinical proficiency in order to transition into proficient and self-assured specialized pharmacists.
Responsibilities:
Evaluates patient drug records and medical backgrounds in order to detect possible conflicts between medications, allergies, and other medication-related concerns.
Working closely with healthcare groups to create and execute personalized medication plans for patients, guaranteeing secure and efficient treatment with medications.
Provides information to patients and healthcare providers regarding the use of medications, such as correct dosage, potential adverse reactions, and interactions with other drugs.
Engages in research initiatives aimed at enhancing pharmacy services and enhancing patient health results.
Observes how patients react to drug treatment, assessing both the positive results and any negative impacts, and proposes necessary changes as needed.
Ensuring precise recording of patient's medication histories, actions taken, and results to maintain consistent care and streamline communication within the healthcare network.
Carries out additional tasks as required.

Required:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completion of a Postgraduate Year One Pharmacy Residency Program
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
Registered Pharmacist in NC
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
