Job Description
The Clinical Practice Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) offers outstanding care and assistance in diverse clinical environments. With limited oversight, this position guarantees the provision of top-notch specialized patient care and contributes to the effective advancement of healthcare goals within the designated service area. Specialty Care is exclusively office-based and encompasses fields such as Oncology, Allergy, Geriatrics, Pulmonary, Dermatology, Urgent Care, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Occupational Medicine, GYN, ENT, Vascular, Psychiatry, Community Care Clinic Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Wound Care, and Patient Care Clinic settings.
Essential Job Function:
- Assessing patient requirements and circumstances to provide nursing care within designated clinical environments to guarantee the delivery of appropriate and individualized care for each patient.
- The process involves evaluating patient data such as medical background, test findings, and present state to create customized nursing interventions.
- Nursing procedures, including administering medications and managing vascular devices, are prepared to deliver thorough and efficient patient care.
- Administering medications and treatments, adhering to established protocols and guidelines to guarantee the safe management of both hazardous and non-hazardous medications, thereby safeguarding the well-being of patients and staff.
- Ensures the accuracy and compliance of medical records by comparing them to regulatory standards and company policies.
- Assessing how patients react to treatments and recognizing the necessity for further interventions to achieve specific care targets.
- Works together with a diverse care team to guarantee efficient planning of patient care.
- Acts as an informed guide and advisor, offering direction, instruction, and assistance to coworkers and team members to encourage a climate of ongoing education.
- Carries out additional responsibilities as required.
Education
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hirePreferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, For Oncology RNs Specialty Competency eligible within 3 months of hire
Experience
- Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty hired as defined by ANCC or national nursing organization
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderPreferred: Certification in Specialty eligible within 1 year of hire
