Job Description
In the Registered Nurse RN Float role, individuals are tasked with offering flexible nursing coverage across a range of units and departments when necessary. Essential Job Function:
- Provides uninterrupted care and assistance by transitioning smoothly between nursing units and departments to address a range of medical conditions and situations.
- Engages with a range of interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and support staff to deliver care that is centered on patients and promotes effective communication within and across units.
- - Carries out detailed assessments of patients' situations and requirements, adjusting care schedules according to unique diagnoses and medical backgrounds.
- Responds promptly to critical situations and emergencies, providing immediate nursing care and assistance to stabilize individuals in need.
- Helps facilitate patient assignments, admissions, and transitions, leveraging familiarity with bed allotment and capacity control to promote smooth patient circulation within the medical center.
- Executes supplementary duties as instructed.
Education
- Required: Associate's Degree in NursingPreferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 1 year as a registered nursePreferred: 1 year of clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderIf working in a critical care area, ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider is required.
