Job Description
Overview:
As a Registered Nurse RN Float, the primary responsibility is to deliver flexible nursing services across a range of units and departments as necessary. With a focus on adaptability, this role involves working closely with different healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care, promote seamless transitions, and uphold quality benchmarks in diverse clinical situations.
Responsibilities:
- Fluidly moves between various nursing units and departments to ensure comprehensive care and support in different medical scenarios.
- Collaborating alongside interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and supportive staff to provide patient-centered care and maintain smooth communication throughout various departments.
- Engages in thorough appraisals of patients' conditions and requirements, tailoring care plans according to individual diagnoses and medical backgrounds.
- Responds quickly to emergencies and critical situations, offering immediate nursing care and assistance to help stabilize patients in urgent need.
- Helps manage patient placements, admissions, and transfers by utilizing familiarity with bed allocation and capacity utilization to facilitate efficient patient flow within the healthcare institution.
- Performs other tasks as designated.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year as a registered nurse
Preferred: 1 year of clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
- Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state
- BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
- If working in a critical care area, ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider is required.
