Job Description
The CT Technologist delivers exceptional patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) scans by following approved protocols and workflows. Under direct supervision, this role operates specialized computerized x-ray equipment to create cross-sectional images that assist radiologists in diagnosing various diseases and conditions.
Essential Job Function
- Uses head or body x-ray scanners to produce computer-generated cross-sectional images, also known as CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) scans.
- Performs routine and special CT exams adhering to established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose, maintaining exam productivity within established benchmarks.
- Performs all exams and records data in the Computerized Health Information (CHL) and PACS systems, accurately documenting charges and correcting errors to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Educates and prepares patients for their examinations to enhance patient understanding and cooperation during testing and promote a positive patient experience.
- Shows dedication to safety, Just Culture principles, and ALARA guidelines to minimize errors and improve patient care outcomes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required:High School Diploma or equivalentGraduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program
Experience Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Will accept any of the licenses:ARRT: RT(R)(CT) RT(N)(CT)NMTCB: CNMT, NMTCB(CT)Combination of ARRT RT(N) and NMTCB(CT) or CNMT and ARRT(CT) Combination of ARRT RT(R) and NMTCB(CT) or ARRT RT(T) and NMTCB(CT)BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
