Job Description
The LPN Hospital position is instrumental in aiding the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider to deliver exceptional patient care in a hospital setting. Under strict supervision, the LPN assists in formulating and executing hospital-based care plans and organizing equipment for procedures within the hospital's network.
Essential Job Function:
- Supports the healthcare professionals by obtaining patient medical information to contribute to complete case documentation in hospital records.
- Aids in the design and implementation of care strategies as directed by the Registered Nurse or healthcare provider in order to meet the needs of patients receiving treatment in a hospital.
- Follows Cone Health policies to maintain sterile environments, emphasizing the importance of correct procedures and safety measures.
- Conveys health care recommendations to patients and families to enable a coherent grasp of the care regimen.
- Assists in responding to emergencies and safety risks by utilizing personal protective equipment and healthcare regulations to prevent harm to patients.
- Executes other responsibilities as tasked.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Practical Nursing; Completion of Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required within 4 years of hire.
Experience:
- Required: None; New LPN Graduates must be accepted into the Cone Health LPN Academy.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Current LPN license in North Carolina; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
