Job Description
This role offers guidance rooted in psychology, religion, spirituality, and theology to assist individuals from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, while maintaining strict oversight.
Essential Job Function:
- Engages in spiritual care visits with patients as a means of providing continuous emotional and spiritual support.
- Conducts assessments to understand the spiritual needs of patients, families, and caregivers, offering consultations with efficiency and empathy.
- Drafts memos for the medical team containing suggestions for boosting the patient's mood and psychological ease.
- Asks for assistance from clergy or spiritual guides to provide spiritual care for patients and their loved ones as requested.
- Extends support in emotional and spiritual aspects to employees within Cone Health.
- Manages a current catalog of local resources available for spiritual and religious assistance.
- Takes part in hospital committees and interdisciplinary initiatives when requested or assigned to help advance the vision and mission of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department.
- Delivers consultation services and educational workshops to support the Clinical Pastoral Education Program and Employee Assistance Counseling Program when required.
- Executes tasks as delegated by superiors.
Education
- Required: Master's Degree in Divinity from an accredited seminary or equivalent; Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent.
