Overview:
This position will primarily work in acute care but may flex to outpatient as needed.
The Occupational Therapist II assesses the well-being of patients, devises and coordinates rehabilitative schemes to aid in restoring optimal functionality, enhancing mobility, alleviating pain, boosting muscle strength, and reducing or preventing physical distortions induced by illnesses or injuries. Moreover, this role involves educating both the patients and their families. The individual in this position possesses the capability to efficiently and proficiently cater to all patients within their clinical environment while executing occupational therapy duties independently. Additionally, they foster communication among multidisciplinary team members, display confidence in managing familiar cases, and act as an advocate for their patients and colleagues. However, when faced with intricate scenarios, this therapist may seek guidance and might encounter challenges when covering duties in alternative settings.
Responsibilities:
Assesses and cares for patients with various diagnoses and heightened medical complexity.
Assesses patient's physical capacities, medical background, and functional constraints in detail to create personalized therapy strategies.
Provides therapeutic exercises and a variety of occupational therapy techniques to enhance patients' physical abilities, including strength, flexibility, and the range of motion.
Provides information to patients and their loved ones regarding treatment strategies, at-home physical activities, and self-care methods to enhance rehabilitation results.
Works together with team members to create and execute plans for patient discharge, occasionally seeking input from colleagues for assistance.
Observes and records the advancement of patients, their results from treatment, and reactions to interventions to allow for modifications in treatment strategies if required.
Works together with multidisciplinary teams from various departments to guarantee seamless patient care and comprehensive treatment results.
Carries out additional tasks as required.
