Job Description
Overview:
As a technical liaison between the Radiation Oncologist and patients, the incumbent is accountable for executing all technical activities for patient management, such as creating treatment plans, delivering treatment procedures accurately, conducting dosimetry, creating treatment aids, and ensuring chart documentation accuracy that aligns with the Radiation Oncologist's directives.
Responsibilities:
The processes and procedures involved in simulation and radiation treatment planning are carried out with strict adherence to institutional policies and governmental regulations, as well as professional standards.
Conforms to institutional policies, governmental regulations, and professional standards to execute radiation treatment as prescribed.
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of patient charting for simulation, radiation treatment and billing.
Patient education and needs assessment are essential components of simulation and radiation treatment processes, which aim to achieve optimal treatment outcomes and minimize unnecessary side effects.
Arranges patient appointments and transportation for simulation and radiation treatment programs.
Qualifications:
Only those who have finished an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program are qualified for this job.
A four-year degree in Radiologic Technology or a similar area of study.
EXPERIENCE:
As a registered radiation therapist, I have accumulated 3 years of valuable experience.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Having a Driver's License also serves as a form of identification in many situations, especially when one needs to prove their identity while making financial transactions
While the American Red Cross and the AHA Healthcare Provider are two of the leading providers of BLS and CPR training, there are other organizations that also offer courses in these life-saving techniques
As a prerequisite, all applicants must hold certification in Radiation Therapy (RT-T) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
PREFERRED
When reviewing resumes, employers often look for candidates with a Radiologic Technology (RT-R) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as it indicates a level of specialization and competency.
The ARRT offers supplementary certification in areas such as CT and MR imaging.
