Overview:
The role of the Inpatient Registered Vascular Sonographer involves conducting non-surgical ultrasound examinations on blood vessels to evaluate their overall well-being and operational capacity. This helps in identifying and treating vascular issues, such as artery diseases or blood clots. By utilizing sophisticated imaging equipment, they produce top-quality visuals to support clinical decision-making and facilitate superior patient care.
Responsibilities:
Accurate assessment of vascular conditions and support for treatment planning is facilitated by conducting vascular ultrasound examinations.
By examining test data, abnormalities can be detected to contribute to informed decisions for vascular conditions and the well-being of patients. Medical professionals receive relayed findings in both verbal and written formats.
Takes charge of the ultrasound apparatus and guarantees that it operates and remains in good condition. Any technical difficulties are reported without hesitation to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
Works alongside healthcare teams with diverse specialties, engaging in dialogue regarding patient cases while imparting knowledge and aiding in the development of comprehensive healthcare plans.
With proper training from an educational program and the ability to prove competency, the individual is capable of performing IV insertion and maintaining their skills annually. This valuable skill not only contributes to patient comfort but also enhances the quality and efficiency of vascular exams.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required:1 year
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
RVT from ARDMS or RVS from CCI or RT-VS from ARRT
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
