Job Description
In this role, the Vascular Sonographer Outpatient Registered administers non-invasive vascular examinations to detect vascular conditions or irregularities with the oversight of the department supervisor. All tests are carried out following established guidelines. The sonographer provides top-tier customer assistance to prioritize safety, respect patient preferences, and enhance communication efficiency by working closely with patients, their families, and co-workers, both internal and external.
Essential Job Function:
- Conducts vascular ultrasound scans to precisely assess vascular issues and plays a key role in identifying vascular conditions to support the planning of patient treatments.
- Reviews test results, pinpointing anomalies, and articulates discoveries clearly to medical experts verbally and in writing to support informed medical judgments regarding vascular conditions and patient welfare.
- Proficiently handles and upkeeps ultrasound equipment, guaranteeing its optimal operation and quickly notifying relevant personnel of any technical difficulties to maintain seamless patient care.
- Engages in teamwork with interdisciplinary healthcare groups, joining in conversations on patient scenarios, offering input, and assisting in the creation of thorough care strategies.
- Executes any other responsibilities as directed.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 1 year
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from ARDMS or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) from CCI or Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RT-VS) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); BLS (CPR)- American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare provider
