Job Description
An integral aspect of the Advanced Practice Provider's responsibilities in Psychiatry Care involves administering specialized medical attention to patients grappling with mental health ailments, fostering a collaborative relationship with psychiatrists. Duties include conducting patient assessments, interpreting the results of diagnostic examinations, and formulating and executing customized treatment plans that cater to the specific needs of each patient in conjunction with various healthcare professionals. The position necessitates a heightened level of clinical competency and the aptitude to engage with individuals encountering multifaceted mental health challenges. Psychiatry Care incorporates the involvement of both Inpatient and Outpatient Advanced Practice Providers within the realm of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Medicine.
Essential Job Function:
- Undertakes physical examinations of the individual, assesses their medical past, and interprets the outcomes of diagnostic procedures to deliver optimal patient therapy.
- Carries out preventive health assessments focusing on the patients age, medical background, and distinct health necessities.
- Informs patients and their families about psychiatric illnesses, management options, and post-treatment procedures.
- Manages documentation of all patient treatments to maintain an accurate patient background.
- - Carries out psychiatric medical interventions based on departmental standards and clinical duties.
- Finds strategies to elevate the standard of patient care in psychiatric settings by examining, troubleshooting, and assessing clinical and operational concerns.
- Executes tasks designated by superiors.
Education:
- Required: Master's degree Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or master's degree Physician Assistant studies.
Experience:
- Required: 1-3 years as advanced practice provider.
- Preferred: 3+ years as advanced practice provider.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Valid NC RN and NP license or NC PA license Board Certified.
