Overview:
The primary duty of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab Specialist involves delivering hands-on patient care in various specialized labs such as the Cardiac Cath lab, Peripheral Vascular Lab, Cath Lab Holding Room, and the Electrophysiology Lab while collaborating with a diverse team. Furthermore, this position requires delivering top-notch, secure, culturally sensitive, and cost-efficient care to patients by engaging in assessment, strategizing, appraisal, and intervention/follow-up procedures.
Responsibilities:
Evaluates the medical background and present state of patients in readiness for cardiac catheterization interventions.
Ensures the safety and best possible results by monitoring patients and handling specialized equipment during procedures.
Ensures a secure setting, follows standard safety measures, and employs appropriate safety gear to reduce hazards and safeguard the health of individuals within the facility.
Works together with the healthcare team, such as doctors and technicians, to ensure procedures run efficiently and without any issues.
Offers patient instruction and assistance prior to, during, and following cardiac catheterization lab procedures.
Complying with the criteria of a professional development program, participating in continuous learning activities, and guiding peers to foster their professional development is essential for staying current with industry advancements, ultimately enhancing patient care and clinical proficiency.

Required:
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Radiology Technologist - ARRT Radiology Technologist registry,
OR
Respiratory Therapist - licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) as an RRT, AND credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as an RRT. Cardiovascular Technology Program - Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular Program, OR Paramedic - North Carolina EMT-P credentialing/accreditation and/or Paramedic Associate Degree from a appropriately recognized Paramedic program.
Graduates from a Cardiovascular Program are required to complete RCIS certification within 3 months of employment.
