Overview:
The CT Technologist plays a key role in delivering top-notch patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) scans by following established workflows and procedural guidelines. With supervision, this role involves operating specialized x-ray machinery to generate detailed cross-sectional scans of the body, assisting radiologists in identifying various illnesses and medical conditions.
Responsibilities:
Operates machines that use x-rays to produce detailed cross-sectional images of the head or body, known as CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scans.
Conducts regular and specific CT scans following predetermined procedures to reduce extra imaging and control radiation exposure, while also meeting productivity goals set by the organization.
Efficiently handles all exams and paperwork in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), ensuring precise identification of fees linked to procedures and rectification of mistakes to maintain a smooth operational process.
Assisting patients in acquiring knowledge and readiness for their examinations to improve comprehension and compliance during testing, ultimately fostering a favorable patient encounter.
Shows dedication to ensuring safe procedures, fostering a culture of fairness, and adhering to the ALARA principles to prevent mistakes and improve patient results.
Carries out additional tasks as required.
