Job Description
The Nursing Technician supports the Registered Nurse through observing and documenting patient conditions. Working under close supervision, this role assists with patient support through progressive mobility and assistance with daily tasks as needed.
NTA serves as a specialized educational platform supporting the seamless integration of Nurse Techs and EMTs into the Cone Health community. Through a structured curriculum spanning three weeks, participants engage in interactive learning experiences that are geared towards preparing them to address the diverse demands of their respective departments.
The program is delivered by experts in the field with the intention of imparting a thorough comprehension of pertinent subjects within a clinical context. After the Academy, participants will be advised to pursue their NT+3 certification within 60-90 days post-course completion. The additional skill sets include sterile technique, management of intravenous lines, and proficiency in Foley catheter procedures. While tailored for novices in a hospital setting, the program also serves as a valuable resource for adept Nurse Technicians and Emergency Medical Technicians newly joining Cone Health.
The onboarding plan will be structured around the NTA dates, giving you the opportunity to receive training in the department to which you are assigned when the classes are not in session. Your pay and benefits will stay consistent throughout the program. The forthcoming NTA is slated to commence in the week starting April 6th, 2026. Please consult the timetable below. Once you have successfully completed the NT Academy, you will shift to the schedule of your designated unit and undergo orientation specific to your department, as detailed by your hiring manager.
- On Monday, April 6, 2026, between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM, there is a new employee orientation event set to take place
- Clinical training is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, 2026, running from 8:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the evening
- From eight in the morning till noon on Thursday, April 9, 2026 is a four-hour duration, commonly known as the morning hours of that specific date. This period encompasses the first half of the morning on the 9th of April in the year 2026, spanning from 8 AM to 12 PM
- The morning of Tuesday, April 14, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 12:00 PM
- On the 15th of April, 2026, Wednesday, the hours of operation are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- On the morning of Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- On the morning of April 20, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Tuesday, April 21, 2026, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Wednesday, April 22, 2026: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- April 23, 2026 - Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Mark your calendars for Friday, April 24, 2026 (NTA Exit Graduation - Time To Be Announced) when the graduation event will take place
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
North Carolina Nurse Aide Certification/CNA
BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
