Job Description
This role utilizes knowledge from psychology, religion, spirituality, and theology to provide guidance and comfort to individuals from various cultural backgrounds and religious beliefs.
Essential Job Function:
- Conducts spiritual care meetings with patients in order to offer ongoing emotional and spiritual assistance.
- Examines the spiritual needs of individuals and offers timely and compassionate consultation to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Creates medical reports and offers suggestions to boost the patient's attitude and emotional ease.
- Liaises with clergy or spiritual guides for the provision of spiritual nurturing to patients and their families as needed.
- Provides support for the emotional and spiritual needs of Cone Health employees.
- Manages a comprehensive directory of local establishments offering spiritual and religious assistance.
- Engages in hospital committees and collaborative endeavors as required or designated to align with the purpose and vision of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department.
- Provides consultation and educational presentations to support the Clinical Pastoral Education Program and Employee Assistance Counseling Program when needed.
- Undertakes any other responsibilities as required.
Education:
- Required: Master's Degree in Divinity from an accredited seminary or equivalent; Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent.
