Job Description
In an acute care setting, the Clinical Pharmacist II is tasked with offering clinical aid and dispensing medications as part of their regular duties. They are held responsible for overseeing the entire medication administration process, ensuring that medication therapy and dispensing are carried out effectively and efficiently. Moreover, they are required to evaluate the appropriateness of drug utilization, provide educational assistance to patients and staff, and supervise pharmacy technicians.
Essential Job Function:
- Understands and complies with doctor's orders to provide accurate medical attention to the relevant recipient.
- Manages the oversight and verification of prescription order entry, packaging, and dispensing.
- Delivers and oversees pharmacy-managed protocols, drug use, and medication-linked data to healthcare practitioners, patients, and the community.
- Supervises pharmacy technicians.
- Precepts students.
- Joins forces with medical professionals, like physicians and nurses, to improve medication therapy and guarantee the safety of patients. Executes any other responsibilities as necessary or allocated.
Education
- Required: Doctor of Pharmacy or BSPharm
Experience
- Required: 3 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Registered Pharmacist in NC within 60 days of hireBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
