Job Description
Overview:
The Dialysis Technician's main duties involve the operation and upkeep of dialysis equipment, overseeing patients throughout dialysis sessions, and guaranteeing the excellence and safety of the dialysis procedure. They assist the Dialysis team by delivering fundamental nursing assistance and performing technical tasks. This position operates with close oversight, recording detailed information about patient treatments and communicating any problems or uncertainties to the relevant healthcare personnel.
Responsibilities:
Provides hemodialysis procedures to patients, which involve tasks such as readiness, collecting supplies, coordinating care, documenting procedures, and notifying the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse of any unusual observations.
Supports the daily functions of the department, readies the dialysis treatment arrangement, conducts safety inspections, and aids in the maintenance and transition of machines for the next patient.
Works together with colleagues, efficiently allocates resources, oversees inventory, and communicates well with both the healthcare team and patients.
Monitors the quality control of the hemodialysis water system and equipment, which involves documenting findings, notifying authorities of any discrepancies, and executing necessary intervention methods.
Offers guidance to new Dialysis Technicians, assists in their orientation process, and assesses their training based on competency standards.
Offers services to prevent issues and conduct small machine fixes, identifies and communicates hazardous situations, and assists in equipment maintenance.
Responding to crises, following patient safety objectives, utilizing correct safety tools, safeguarding sensitive data, and adhering to company protocols are essential responsibilities.
Carries out office tasks, assists in organizing appointments, inputs fees, manages documents, and monitors stock levels to ensure they are sufficient.
Carries out additional tasks as required.

Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 0-1 years of Nephrology experience to include Hemodialysis (HD)
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
Required:
Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Certification (CCHT) certification, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
