Job Description
The retail pharmacy program at Cone Health is looking for an enthusiastic director to spearhead its operations. This individual will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining high-quality pharmacy services that aim to deliver exceptional healthcare experiences to patients, healthcare providers, and the broader community.
Essential Job Function:
- Establish and maintain health system-wide retail pharmacy services with input from service providers and patients.
- Formulate and execute a detailed plan for expanding retail pharmacy offerings as part of the overall ambulatory pharmacy services strategy. Justify the financial and human capital investments necessary for successful implementation of initiatives within designated purviews.
- Support in the identification and application of technological solutions required for maintaining the efficiency of retail pharmacy distribution activities.
- Create and carry out specific promotional strategies to promote the recognition and seamless utilization of the services provided by Cone Health's retail pharmacies among various stakeholders.
- Establish, apply, and disclose measures of quality, safety, finance, and customer service in the specified realms of authority.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, national guidelines, and best-practice standards through ongoing evaluation and enhancement efforts.
- Educate and distribute data on pharmaceutical treatment and clinical pharmacy schemes with pharmacy staff, nursing teams, physicians, medical professionals, executive board, and other concerned parties.
- Engage with health plans, insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, employers, governmental agencies, and other third-party entities to align retail pharmacy services and associated disease management programs.
- Establish and promote a workplace environment that prioritizes and values strong partnerships among employees, aiming to achieve a top-tier ranking.
- Foster and guide a team composed of highly talented and devoted personnel to showcase exceptional performance and uphold iCARE standards and principles, encompassing communication, accountability, respect, and empowerment.
Education:
- Required: BS Pharmacy or PharmD
- Preferred: Master of Health Administration, Master of Science in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Administration, Master of Business Administration, or other advanced degree in pharmacy or healthcare leadership.
Experience:
- Required: 5 years in Retail Pharmacy with 3 years supervisory experience
- Preferred: PGY1 and PGY2 ASHP Accredited Pharmacy Residencies or equivalent work experience. Experience with budget, financial management, and staffing methodologies. Experience with implementing improvement processes, preferred lean methodologies.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Current active license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina, or eligible to obtain North Carolina pharmacy license within two months of hire.
