Job Description

The Physical Therapist II evaluates the conditions of patients, devises individualized treatment plans, and applies therapeutic measures to enhance functional capabilities. The incumbent is capable of efficiently managing all patients in their clinical setting and carrying out the responsibilities of a physical therapist with minimal supervision. Effective communication with interdisciplinary team members, confident treatment of familiar patients, and advocacy for both patients and the team are essential aspects of this role. It involves working independently in the primary setting and potentially seeking mentorship or guidance in complex situations and adapting to different clinical environments may pose challenges.
Essential Job Function:
- Provides evaluation and care for a wide range of diagnoses and challenging patients.
- Performs in-depth examinations of patients' physical capabilities, medical past, and constraints in functionality to formulate tailored treatment programs.
- Delivers therapeutic exercises and various physical therapy techniques aimed at enhancing individuals' muscular endurance, flexibility, and scope of movement.
- Instructs patients and their families about the proposed treatment strategies, as well as home-based workout routines and self-care approaches to enhance the effectiveness of recovery outcomes.
- Collaborates with a team to develop and put into action discharge plans and suggestions for further treatment.
- Tracks and records the advancement of patients, the effectiveness of treatments, and the reactions to interventions to enable necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams across departments to promote synchronized patient care and well-rounded treatment effects.
- Aids in familiarizing and instructing new staff members, displaying a continuous effort to enhance the competency and expertise of fellow workers.
- Executes any other responsibilities as designated.
Education
- Required: Associate's Degree in NursingPreferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 1 year as a Registered NursePreferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
