The Kidney Dialysis Unit (KDU) at Alamance Regional Medical Center is a purpose-built 6-bay suite dedicated to caring for individuals with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) and Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), as well as those in need of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) treatment.

In this dynamic procedural unit, teamwork is highly valued, and there is a strong emphasis on diversity among the staff. The management team is outstanding, promoting open dialogue and facilitating the enhancement of knowledge and skills for registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and dialysis technicians in alignment with their individual career objectives.

RN's are tasked with the delivery of superior patient care and the guarantee of positive patient results by employing nursing expertise in a compassionate and effective manner. This role involves fostering professional nursing standards through the integration of patient care utilizing the nursing process and cooperation with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

Examines patient needs and health conditions within the assigned area of responsibility to administer nursing assistance tailored to meet the specific requirements of each patient.

Reviews patient records, such as medical history, test outcomes, and existing health status, to formulate tailored nursing care blueprints.

Gets ready nursing protocols, like distributing medication and performing therapies, to offer all-encompassing and impactful patient care.

Checks medical files for correctness and conformity with industry regulations and internal protocols.

Reviews how patients respond to interventions and recognizes the necessity for additional interventions to fulfill predetermined care goals.

Collaborates with a diverse interdisciplinary team to enhance the effectiveness of care planning.

Carries out any other assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 1 year as a Registered Nurse

Preferred:

  • 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED

Required:

Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
