Job Description
Serving as a point of contact for various departments, the RN House Supervisor plays a pivotal role in fostering effective communication and collaboration within the hospital setting. By working closely with stakeholders, this individual ensures that hospital operations run smoothly and align with the established standards of care and regulatory guidelines.
Essential Job Function
- Collaborates with department heads in nursing services to coordinate staffing in response to patient volume and care requirements; assesses the adequacy of staff and resources to maximize utilization of personnel based on their skill set and background.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to determine the most suitable placement for patients.
- Collaborates with departmental charge nurses, healthcare providers, and other relevant units to streamline the movement of patients.
- Aids in managing triage and determining admission priorities to expedite patient processing as required.
- Reacting to notifications of urgent situations within the campus setting, participating in assigned duties, and aiding in organizing the transportation of patients, if the situation requires it.
- Engages with team members, patients, and patient representatives to discuss ethical challenges, fresh protocols, and steps to take within the chain of command.
- Provides consultation to hospital staff, physicians, and external entities on operational concerns.
- Executes further responsibilities as delegated.
Education
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Preferred: Master s degree in nursing or similar field
Experience
- Required: 3 or more years as a Registered Nurse required. Preferred: Acute care setting. Previous leadership and/or critical care experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: RN- Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or Compact state. BLS ACLS (Not applicable for the Behavioral Health Service Line) Notary public certification in the State of North Carolina (must be completed within six months of hire)
