Job Description

Overview:

Employing adult learning theories, the Clinical Nurse Educator develops, implements, and evaluates an array of educational programs aimed at clinical and specialized patient groups across the organization, taking charge of key initiatives and operations in their specialized area to promote effective teamwork and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Serving as an education expert, the CNE partners with interprofessional teams to integrate evidence-based approaches into clinical settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Engages in partnerships with interprofessional teams and stakeholders to develop educational offerings aimed at enhancing patient care quality and safety while meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Establishes and applies inventive, captivating, and diverse educational and training programs for healthcare team members, patients, and societies using top-notch techniques, theories of adult learning, and a variety of teaching methods.
  • Assesses feedback and data obtained from educational activities, training courses, and learning endeavors to gauge the level of engagement, grasp of knowledge, and overall impact of the program.
  • Aids in the introduction of modern workplace technology and devices by familiarizing oneself with and endorsing updated resources to enlighten employees and enhance the organization's aims.
  • Provides assistance and mentorship to encourage the progress and development of staff members.
  • Engages in the distribution of information, showcasing best practices and research outcomes to both inside and outside parties.
  • Carries out various assignments as directed.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required: Master's Degree

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

5 years as a Registered Nurse and 2 years in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:

  • Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state
  • BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
