Job Description
The Cybersecurity Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and security of information systems through various duties including assessing, developing, and implementing cybersecurity procedures and tools. Responsibilities also include managing system configurations, overseeing the integration of system updates and enhancements, and enforcing strict adherence to information security policies and practices.
Essential Job Function:
- Identifying security threats is crucial in the protection of information systems from harm.
- Preserves the system through the delineation of access permissions, control mechanisms, and available resources.
- Identifying abnormalities helps in acknowledging issues, reporting any violations found, and addressing vulnerabilities to prevent further complications.
- Enhances security by examining the current status, forecasting upcoming needs, and assessing trends.
- Uncovering security infractions and operational inefficiencies via scheduled audits.
- Improve systems by incorporating and managing security safeguards.
- Carry out standard system assessments and security checks, generating performance summaries, and communicating system conditions.
- Upholds the quality of service by following the established guidelines of the organization.
- Support in formulating, sustaining, and enforcing security procedures and protocols.
- Take charge of security briefings and participate in formulating plans for incident response.
- Deep comprehension of cloud framework configuration and resolving a range of security obstacles.
- Familiarity with various cloud provider platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP is necessary for success in cloud computing.
- Integrating security protocols within a cloud infrastructure.
- Executes any other responsibilities as directed.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience (10 years' experience in IT with 5 years in IT Security is needed for equivalent experience).
Experience:
- Required: 6 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) - Obtain within 12 months.
