Overview:
The Nursing Technician works closely with the Registered Nurse to monitor and document patient health conditions. This role involves supporting patients in improving their mobility and aiding them in everyday tasks with supervision.
Responsibilities:
Supports individuals in performing daily living activities, like eating, self-care, and advancing mobility to aid in their recovery and care strategy.
Assesses the well-being of patients in terms of their nutrition, hydration, and waste elimination to allocate resources appropriately and predict patient necessities.
Executes the admission, transfer, and discharge tasks to appropriately transition patients in alignment with their care plans.
Supports with clinical procedures, which involve observing blood sugar levels, documenting vital signs, conducting EKG assessments, applying restraints, and addressing elimination requirements to ensure patients are well taken care of.
Supports in the upkeep of unit supplies and medical devices inventories to guarantee a sanitary and protected atmosphere in accordance with the National Patient Safety Goals.
Confirms the presence of appropriate armbands, socks, and visual cues for patients identified as fall risks to safeguard their physical well-being.
Supports the documentation of each clinical procedure, patient interface, and medication application for the purpose of sustaining a thorough patient medical record.
Responds promptly to delegation from registered nurse staff and shares patient observations to ensure efficient collaboration.
Undertakes supplementary duties as delegated.

Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
