Overview:
The role of the Nursing Technician I involves assisting the Registered Nurse in observing and documenting patient conditions. Under supervision, this position helps with patient care by encouraging gradual mobility and offering assistance with daily tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
Assisting individuals in tasks like meal provision, personal hygiene, and increasing mobility to help with the recovery process and care organization.
Evaluates patient's quality of life by considering their nutrition, hydration, and waste elimination to better allocate resources and preempt patients' requirements.
Admits, transports, and releases individuals to facilitate their movement to the correct locations in alignment with the care schedule.
Assists with medical protocols by overseeing blood glucose monitoring, recording vital signs, performing EKG tests, implementing restraints, and addressing elimination needs to ensure patients are well cared for.
Helps in ensuring the availability of supplies and medical equipment within the unit to sustain a clean and secure environment as per the National Patient Safety Goals.
Double-checking that fall-prone patients are outfitted with the proper arm bands, socks, and signals to uphold their physical integrity.
Assists in documenting all medical procedures, patient interactions, and medication administration for the maintenance of a detailed patient history.
Timely responses to delegated tasks from the nursing staff, accompanied by the proactive exchange of patient observations, contribute to efficient teamwork.
Conducts any other tasks as reasonably required or directed.

Required:
Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
