Overview:
Under the instruction of the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician plays a crucial role in observing and documenting patient well-being. With supervision, this position assists patients in increasing their mobility and aiding them with daily activities.
Responsibilities:
Assists patients in their daily tasks, such as meal provision, personal hygiene, and improving movement to assist in their recovery and treatment plan.
Evaluates the quality of life of patients based on their nutrition, hydration, and excretion patterns to appropriately allocate resources and anticipate patient needs.
Arranges for patients to be admitted, transferred, or discharged as needed based on the care plan.
Assists with medical procedures by monitoring blood sugar, recording vital signs, performing EKG tests, implementing restraints, and tending to elimination needs to ensure patients' comfort and well-being.
Assists in maintaining unit inventories for supplies and medical equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment in compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals.
Validates that high-risk patients are supplied with the necessary wristbands, socks, and visual aids to uphold their physical safety.
Helps in chronicling all healthcare procedures, patient engagements, and medicine consumption to secure an elaborate patient history.
Responds promptly to delegation from registered nurse staff and shares patient observations to ensure efficient collaboration.
Completes tasks that are assigned apart from regular responsibilities.

Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
